I blog through a free blogger platform. After a year and a half, I'm in a transition period. I want to move into a new domain and web hosting which is more efficient and something I can call my own. However, seeing my little empire deserted after building it painstakingly for a long time, it hurts. There is this dilemma of letting go.
One of the essential tips that I learned abut blogging is that you should never build a free blog. Secure your won domain right and build your brand so that when it grows big, none of your effort goes wasted.
I built my brand. Type Creative Fashion in google and it's my blog that comes as the number one result, at least that's my google search result says. But now that I'm ready to become a problogger and get my own domain, continuing the brand that I've built and my following, my domain brand is already taken, for sale as a premium at a price I could never afford. Of course, I can choose other domain name, but no matter how creative I try to be, the names are moving away from the brand I built for almost 2 years.
What about all the quality links? And so much more?
But I don't regret that I started at a free blog. I practiced my html skills, writing and online marketing skills. I learned a lot.
What about you girls? Did you start with your own domain name or or with a free blog? What are your thoughts?
fabulously yours,
Gleenn
